Solicitors/Barristers
Each party will appoint their own solicitor as part of the collaborative process. The solicitor will explain the process to you and provide advice as the matter continues.
The role of each solicitor is to assist in the conduct of the process and in identifying the relevant issues and facilitating the negotiation process.
The solicitors adopt a cooperative approach with one another in order to assist resolving matters, rather than adopting opposing positions as is often the case in the traditional process.
The solicitors will ensure that both clients fully understand the process before committing to it and will also assist in issues relating to financial disclosure between the parties, and on the basis that agreement is reached, in the drafting of an appropriate Consent Order to be submitted to the Court.
